The Standard of Veterinary Excellence
Many of you have already come in and seen our new exam rooms, food store, and reception area – thanks to our remodel this summer we have seen a lot of big updates to Goldorado. Additionally, many of the “behind the scenes” treatment, lab, and surgery areas were also refreshed to better serve your furry family members. One thing that hasn’t changed however, we remain an AAHA Accredited Hospital.
What is AAHA?
AAHA stands for the American Animal Hospital Association and is “the gold standard of veterinary medicine.” Unlike human hospitals, veterinary hospitals are not required to be accredited, so you should be comforted in knowing that your pet is being cared for at one of the top 15% of vet practices in the country!
How does a veterinary hospital become AAHA accredited?
There are over 900 standards that veterinary hospitals must meet or exceed in order to qualify. Our hospital has been evaluated in multiple areas, such as patient care, pain management, surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, medical records, cleanliness, emergency services, dental care, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology, preventing the spreading of diseases, and continuing education.
What does it mean to your pet?
Maintaining AAHA accreditation at Goldorado means that we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care possible for your furry companions. We have been independently verified as having superior standards throughout all aspects of your pet’s visit to our hospital. We are proud to be one of only three AAHA accredited veterinary hospitals in El Dorado County because we know your loved ones deserve the very best.
