Dr. Michaelis grew up always knowing she would become a veterinarian, beginning with examining and helping her Lion King figurines at 5 years old. In middle school and high school, she began volunteering at animal hospitals, growing her love for both medicine and pets.
Dr. Michaelis is excited to join the team at Goldorado Animal after 3 years of practicing in Granite Bay. She graduated from Humboldt State University in 2013 with a degree in cellular/molecular biology and a minor in chemistry. She continued her education at Kansas State University, graduating with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. After returning home to California to be near family, Dr. Michaelis began her veterinary career, where she found a passion for both preventative and internal medicine.
When Dr. Michaelis is not in the office helping patients, she can be found reading, gaming, and singing & playing piano with her husband. She also enjoys spending time with her parents, siblings, and sweet niece & nephews. Dr. Michaelis has rescued 3 cats, 2 dogs, and looks forward to adding horses to the family soon.
